It's been a pretty good past week for the most underrated Philadelphia Eagles offseason move so far with punter Braden Mann.

Mann signed a four-year contract extension with the Eagles while also being a new dad. When he spoke with the media, Mann responded to a question about what it means to him to have the Eagles show their commitment to him with a long-term contract.

“I think in a world of headlines, and how much people can get, everybody gets caught up in all the numbers," Mann said via Sports Illustrated's John McMullen. "But just the commitment that you can get from a team or a GM saying that we want you here for another four years, it really does feel nice."

Braden Mann loves the commitment from the Eagles

Mann more than earned his new contract after the stellar 2025 season he had. Last season, he averaged a career-high 49.9 yards per punt while also averaging 43.1 net yards per punt. He was one of the top 10 punters in the NFL last year and was the only bright spot to a special teams unit that struggled throughout the season.

It was important to bring back stability to the special teams, especially in the kicking game, with Jake Elliott struggling. Mann has been a solid holder over the last three years and played a huge role when the team went through two long snappers last season.

Free agent moves like signing Riq Woolen and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown are going to get all the attention because they are in key roles on the roster. Nobody can overlook the impact Mann has had on this team with field positioning and consistency.

There might have been flashier moves Philly made, but Mann was the most important one, bringing back a player who had done a lot more for this franchise than fans realize.
