Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman just can't help but be in the middle of a trade rumor, as he is always looking for a good deal.

Throughout the offseason, the Eagles were reportedly in conversations with other teams regarding edge rushers, with the biggest name being Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby. Well, after some craziness with his trade and non-trade with the Baltimore Ravens, the trade talks might be back on, according to Sports Illustrated's Hondo Carpenter, as he appeared on a recent episode of the "Las Vegas Raiders Insider” podcast with an update on Crosby trade rumors.

"I am telling you there is a lot of interest in Maxx Crosby. Two teams specifically are nuclear hot: the Eagles and the 49ers."

Eagles might be back in the running for Maxx Crosby

Crosby is obviously a great talent as he's been to the Pro Bowl five years in a row in his seven-year NFL career and has racked up 69.5 sacks during that span. He was a big name everyone wanted in the offseason, but the back-and-forth with the Ravens and that disaster put a stop to talks.

It's interesting that the Eagles are back in the conversation for Crosby if the rumor is true. They went with a backup plan in Jonathan Greenard after trading for him in the 2026 NFL Draft. Philly also just added A.J. Epenesa last week to give the edge rusher room more depth and veteran leadership.

The Eagles will have to consider whether a trade for Crosby would be smart for them financially, as they have big decisions coming in the near future. They already gave Jordan Davis a contract extension, but will eventually have to do the same for guys like Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper DeJean in the next two to three years.

Philly at least has the trade assets to make a deal with the Raiders. Thanks to the first-round pick they got from the A.J. Brown trade, they could use that to bring in Crosby with two first-round picks.

As great as it would be to get Crosby in the midnight green uniform, is it the right move for the future of the franchise? If Roseman can work his salary cap magic, then this could be the deal of the century, and the Eagles all of a sudden have a Super Bowl-caliber roster.
