The countdown is on. We're less than seven days away from Super Bowl LIX. On opening night, captains from the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs shared the stage. They won't do so again until they share football's biggest stage to play a game for the Lombardi Trophy.
You never know what to expect from media night. Kids can ask their favorite NFL stars questions if they can get within earshot. We saw Jameis Winston share 'W' cookies with A.J. Brown and set up the perfect troll job by Saquon Barkley, but it was one question in particular that we hoped would be asked. And, it was...
Carson Wentz answers questions about the Philadelphia Eagles.
Okay, you have to admit this is interesting. Carson Wentz probably won't play vs. the Eagles in the Super Bowl, but he is on the roster. Enough said...
We didn't need another reason to hope Philly gets it done this Sunday, but that's a reason. We won't be able to get out of bed if a team with Carson Wentz on the roster beats our Birds in the Super Bowl.
Sure, we've moved on, but we also know ourselves. We know what we can handle and what we can't. We would like to know what he's been thinking, and guess what? 94 WIP-FM's Eliot Shorr-Parks ran him down to figure that out.
Carson Wentz says he remembers Philly fondly but does wish it ended differently

Says he keeps in touch with Nick Foles

Okay, we never really thought Carson would say something derogatory, never in a million years. Still, we stand by our previous comment. Philly had better not lose this game to that player.
And, then, there's the Andy Reid angle. Yeah... We would have cheered for Philly anyway. That's a given, but beating those two would make winning Super Bowl LIX a little sweeter. We promise you that you wouldn't have to search very hard to find another Birds fan who agrees.
