Those selections would be a problem.

More mock drafts are rolling through for Philadelphia Eagles fans to review, but Charles Davis's first one might catch the attention of everyone with what their division rivals did.

Here is what Davis predicted for the NFC East teams to select in his mock draft:

  • New York Giants (Fifth Overall) - Spencer Fano, OT, Utah
  • Washington Commanders (Seventh Overall) - Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU
  • Dallas Cowboys (12th Overall) - Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee

As for the Eagles, Davis did well with his pick for them, as he has Philly finding the man who could replace Lane Johnson when he retires: Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling.

"The Eagles tend to fortify positions before a desperate situation develops. Freeling could be two-time first-team All-Pro OT Lane Johnson's eventual successor."

NFC East teams with solid selections before Eagles in mock draft

First, looking at the Eagles' selection, Freeling was one of the best offensive linemen in the SEC last year, earning second-team All-SEC honors with the Bulldogs. While he needs to develop as a run blocker, giving him a year behind Johnson to learn will benefit his game.

As for the other picks, all the NFC East teams got better with their picks. The Giants would beef up their offensive line to better protect quarterback Jaxson Dart in the pocket and open up the running game. Dallas and Washington showed their hands in trying to stop the Eagles' top receivers, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, by selecting young cornerbacks with plenty of upside.

There was a clear separation in the NFC East last year between the Eagles and the other three teams, despite Philly not being 100% great itself. This mock draft could be a sign that 2026 is going to get tougher for the Birds.
