After the offseason the Philadelphia Eagles have had so far, it appears there is a clear plan for what's going on, and it might not work in favor of one of their past draft picks.
During free agency, the Eagles emphasized building depth in the cornerback room by signing Riq Woolen and Jonathan Jones. This will give Philly veteran experience back there and a chance to have the best talent that position group has had in a few years.
Despite these moves being great for the Eagles, they may not be the best ones for a former draft pick of theirs. Cornerback Kelee Ringo better watch his back as he now finds himself on the chopping block going into the 2026 season.
Kelee Ringo might be in trouble of making the Eagles' roster in 2026
The Eagles' 2023 fourth-round pick has not lived up to the expectations that other former Georgia Bulldogs defenders have had for the team over the last five years. Standing at 6-foot-2, the hope was that a tall, lengthy corner would be exactly what the Eagles have been looking for in the secondary.
That has not been the case. In 51 career games over the last three seasons, Ringo has racked up 73 tackles, five pass deflections, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, and one interception. He has struggled in coverage his whole career, allowing 57.8% completion percentage.
Last year, Ringo had his best chance of being a starter at CB2 as he was competing against Adoree' Jackson. While Jackson came out as the ultimate winner, Ringo was out there, and it was not a pretty sight in the secondary, as he struggled to consistently cover receivers.
To Ringo's credit, though, he has been a very good special teams ace for the Eagles, playing at least 69% of the snaps on that side of the ball in each of the last three years. It has been honestly the one aspect of his game that has helped him from being cut up to this point.

The Eagles' 2026 training camp is going to be very interesting for Ringo, as it could finally be a make-or-break one for him, as he has to do better in the secondary. Otherwise, he is most likely out the door before the season starts.
