Former Eagles DB won't stand on sidelines with Jalen Hurts criticism swirling

At least someone says it.

The chatter just won't stop on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, with everyone continuing to criticize him.

It all started with an ESPN report about Hurts being uncoachable, changing plays, and calling all four vertical routes on the last play of the NFC Wild Card loss to the San Francisco 49ers last season. Thankfully, players like Eagles running back Tank Bigsby defended his quarterback on social media. This time, a former teammate, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, came to the defense of his former teammate.

"Why do this …… like come on! People will continue to bash this man for what reason??? Plenty other QB news we can talk about 💯"

C.J. Gardner-Johnson defends Jalen Hurts

Gardner-Johnson knows all too well how great Hurts has been for the Eagles over the years. In 2022 and 2024, Gardner-Johnson was a starter in Philly's secondary, and both seasons saw the team make the Super Bowl, with the win coming in 2024.

All the talk of Hurts has not let up, as everyone is sharing their opinions on him, and most of them are not flattering for the franchise quarterback. They are finding anything they can to criticize him, like saying he can't read defenses or that he does whatever he wants.

Hurts' haters just forget about the Super Bowl win, the Super Bowl MVP, or the three times he's made the Pro Bowl. How about all the charity work he does with writing a children's book, or the passionate work he does with the Special Olympics? Yeah, pretty selfish guy (with the highest level of sarcasm being used for this sentence).

This is something Hurts has been dealing with his whole career, as people just want to find a way to take him down, even though he's a proven winner. As Gardner-Johnson said, please talk about someone else and stop with the fixation on Hurts.
