The only thing that has been discussed among the Philadelphia Eagles fan base and the media is quarterback Jalen Hurts.
From the ESPN report on questioning Hurts last season to The Philadelphia Inquirer's report that the Eagles have no intentions of giving him a contract extension. Former Eagles linebacker and SportsRadio 94 WIP host Ike Reese shared his thoughts on why he isn't concerned about Hurts moving forward.
"I think he can answer those questions. I think he can put the Eagles' minds at ease by playing well enough to say, 'You know what? Moving forward, I'm comfortable moving forward with Jalen Hurts as my face of the franchise and the franchise quarterback.' Here's the reason why I believe that. I'm not going to do the Super Bowl winning thing and all of that other to say his track record says he's been a part of more winning teams than he has been losing teams that goes back to his college days. Now, there is a bit of a caveat in there. He's always had pretty good talent around him, with the exception of 2021, which was his first year as a starter. After that, they pretty much put the talent around Jalen, and I'm okay with that."
Not everyone is concerned about Jalen Hurts in 2026
Hurts has played well over the last few years despite so many questions surrounding how he has thrown the football. He has won nearly 70% of his starts, been selected to three Pro Bowls, made two Super Bowl appearances, won one Super Bowl, and won one Super Bowl MVP.
The media and fans can talk about the limitations all they want, but the character attacks on Hurts have been the source of the most annoyance among Eagles fans. He has proven to be a strong leader in the organization and has done a great deal of work in the community.
Some of his teammates, like Tank Bigsby, have come to Hurts' defense in public. There is not been much chatter outside of these reports about Hurts and for the fan base, it's been odd to follow.

The hope is that Hurts and the Eagles will be able to move forward from the reports and he can respond with a great 2026 season. All signs appear to be that he needs to step up and have a strong year in Philly.
