Just when Philadelphia Eagles fans were ready to enjoy a nice, quiet, drama-free summer, of course, another story has to come out regarding franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts.
After months of reports criticizing Hurts for being uncoachable and changing plays in games, a new story now has something from the quarterback's side of things. Bleeding Green Nation's Joseph Santoliquito shared how the signal caller is feeling after this offseason.
"Some close to Hurts feel that the Eagles did not support him enough when some constructively insightful stories came out this postseason about some of his deficiencies on the field, like Eagles teammates did, at the urging of the Eagles, over the constructive criticism Carson Wentz received in January 2019. No one spoke up publicly on Hurts’ behalf as they did Wentz."
Jalen Hurts now reported not happy with Eagles after offseason reports
This report from Santoliquito suggests he believes the Eagles could be on the edge of losing Hurts if things don't improve. The article said the same thing: another superstar, A.J. Brown, was pushed out of Philly; the same could be true for Hurts.
At this point, who knows if the report is legitimate, but it certainly feels as though Hurts has every right to be frustrated about the current situation. After winning nearly 70% of his starts, he probably feels as though he should stop being doubted so much.
There is a lot that still needs to happen before the 2026 season, before fans revisit the topic that is being implied. Hurts is still the starting quarterback and has received support from leadership and, at times, from the players. There are moments when not as much is said, but the players on the Eagles are trying to stay out of the media and focus on the field after dealing with Brown these last two years and having to answer questions about it.
