The biggest gut-punch moment for the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason was losing defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator Christian Parker to the Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas hired Parker as their new defensive coordinator after he spent two years with the Eagles' secondary, developing players like Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell into All-Pros last year. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was asked about Parker, and thanks to the help of DeJean and Zack Baun, he expressed his excitement to have Parker in Dallas.

"Excited about that hire," Prescott said via Dallas Morning News' Joseph Hoyt. "Obviously, I've met him. Talked to him briefly. I'm excited for the demeanor, the way he carries himself. Met the whole staff, and not only that, when you go to the Pro Bowl, you meet guys. I got to talk to Zack Baun, Cooper DeJean, guys that played under him, and hear how much they loved him, how much they loved playing for him. I'm excited for how our guys are going to be. Super pumped."

Eagles fans took the Parker news hard, as everyone knew that he would land a defensive coordinator job, but wished it wasn't with the Cowboys. Parker interviewed for multiple other defensive coordinator openings around the NFL during the offseason, with the Cowboys hiring.

Philly ended up replacing Parker with Joe Kasper, as he was promoted to defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator after serving as the Eagles' safeties coach. Eagles players like DeJean spoke out in support of Kasper and were excited for his opportunity.

Kasper will have his work cut out for him despite having two All-Pros in the secondary. The Eagles still have to figure out whether Reed Blankenship will be re-signed, as he's about to be a free agent, and Adoree' Jackson is also a free agent, so the CB2 job is once again open for Philly.
