The injury bug is starting to creep up for the Philadelphia Eagles on offense, as starting tight end Dallas Goedert is expected to miss some time after being knocked out of their 24-20 Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Goedert got rolled up during the game and left early in the second half. NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter reported that Goedert suffered a sprained MCL and is expected to miss a few weeks.

This season, Goedert has five receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns, both in the Week 1 win over the Washington Commanders. He caught only one pass for four yards against the Titans.
Dallas Goedert is out and now all eyes are on Eagles GM Howie Roseman
That's right. It's the Howie Roseman show now, as he has to make some big decisions on what to do at tight end. Goedert will miss some time, and rookie second-round pick Eli Stowers is still out on IR with multiple lower-body injuries.
Roseman has only E.J. Jenkins and Johnny Mundt as active tight ends. Mundt is a solid blocker despite recent struggles, but he's not known as a receiving tight end. Jenkins is just too inexperienced to be ready for a role like this.
The logical move now is for Roseman to call Zach Ertz and get him to Philly as soon as possible. They need someone who knows Jalen Hurts and the city well enough to step in as a starter right away. Despite the ACL injury last year, Ertz has continued to play at a high level since the Eagles traded him in 2021.
Roseman could look at other free agents or the trade market to try to find someone. At this point, that would make no sense. The only other option that would have made sense was Cameron Latu after they let him go, but he is with the New England Patriots now.
Ertz and Roseman have recently communicated, according to Roseman himself. PHLY's E.J. Smith reported interest from both sides, so it could happen. It's the only logical move now, and Roseman has to strike right away.

Eagles fans hope a deal gets done quickly so Ertz can be in practice by Wednesday, with an extra day to work since they play the Chicago Bears on Monday night. Let's see how this plays out.
