All season, the Philadelphia Eagles' offense has been taking hit after hit from the national and local sports media. It continues to get worse for this team.
ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky was on the show Get Up when he was asked about the offense. Orlovsly's scouting report is rough to the point that some of the viewers thought they were at a local Philly sports bar with Eagles fans complaining about the team.
"It's the worst first down offense in the NFL, and if you are bad on first down, it's almost impossible to make up for it on second and third down. For context, Saquon last year runs the football on first down, ran for over 1,100 yards on first down last year, 70 yards per game. This year, he's averaging 38 yards running the ball on first down. You're bad on first down, you're bad on second down then you're always in third and longs. That's why you all these three and outs. They don't do one thing well offensively. If I had to use the words and give you adjectives to describe this offense over the course of the season. Predictable, boring, stale, self-inflecting, uncreative, and unexplosive."
Did Orlovsky say anything wrong, though?
He's exactly on point. This Eagles offense has looked bad all season and has only regressed, not progressed.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is going through his worst slump of the season as he has not completed over 70% of his passes in the last four games, with three of those seeing him complete under 60% in games. Hurts is coming off the worst game of the season with two bad second-half turnovers that cost them.
As much as Eagles fans and media are trying their best not to give it to offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo too badly, he deserves the criticism. Patullo's play-calling all season has been dull and predictable to the point that Eagles fans know that on third and long, it's going to be the surrender running back draw that drives fans up the wall.
Philly's offensive line has been banged up all season and hasn't been able to work together as a unit. The wide receivers aren't getting open, with most of them running either a hitch, an out, or a crossing route to a T.

The Eagles are an ugly mess on offense that never seems to be getting better. There are five games to change that narrative, but at this point, Philly fans are stuck with this offense.
