We aren't too proud to say this. There's a reason why Howie Roseman is the Philadelphia Eagles' vice president/general manager and we aren't. There's a reason why no one has called us to be an assistant coach on any of the NFL's 32 franchises.
This feels a lot different than playing the franchise mode in EA's Madden NFL game. That's why all offseason, you've heard our analysis remain pretty consistent.
'Howie Roseman' has asked for patience, and we believe he has earned that'. We said it while the free agents were leaving. We said it when C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded.
Philly added low-risk, high-reward players, but if we're being honest, we're glad Azeez Ojulari is here.
One comes in. Another leaves. That's part of the annual offseason nature. This time around, Philly loses another. This time, it's a subtraction from the offensive roster.

Another wave of free agency brings another morning. Adam Schefter reports another Eagle has left Philly's nest.
This time, it's Fred Johnson. A former undrafted free agent, he joined Philly in 2022 after spending time on three other rosters between 2019 and 2022.

Johnson was someone Jeff Stoutland truly believed in, a very good backup swing tackle. Expect Philly to continue addressing their needs with bargain signings, but this one furthers what has been a familiar conversation.
While the starting O-line leaves little to criticize (if anything), there is a need for depth. Our expectation is it will be addressed with at least two of the eight picks Philly owns in the coming 2025 NFL Draft.
