Well, the issues are already starting for the Philadelphia Eagles as they prepare to play the Chicago Bears in Week 13.

Philly released their Week 13 injury report, with multiple players not practicing on the first day (keep in mind they had a walkthrough, and these are just estimates). Five players were listed as "did not practice" for the Eagles:

  • Xavier Gipson, WR (Shoulder)
  • Brandon Graham, DE (Groin)
  • Lane Johnson, OT (Foot)
  • Andrew Mukuba, S (Ankle)
  • DeVonta Smith, WR (Shoulder/Chest)

Additionally, there were three players who were listed as "limited" for the practice:

  • Saquon Barkley, RB (Groin)
  • Reed Blankenship, S (Thigh)
  • Landon Dickerson, OG (Knee)

Three more players were full participants, including offensive lineman Willie Lampkin (knee/ankle) and Myles Hinton (back). Cornerback Adoree' Jackson was also on here, but was listed as "gameday concussion protocol evaluation," which means he was feared to have a concussion on gameday but has cleared protocol and is fine. Jackson is in line to play against the Bears.

Eagles' offense starting to have their own issues

Smith is a major problem, as he has been the Eagles' top receiver this season. There are no signs of when he got hurt in the 24-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but this is clearly an issue the offense can't afford.

Barkley is another concern, as his groin injury is back. He had initially injured it in the second New York Giants matchup and sat out the second half of the fourth quarter for precautionary reasons.

Gipson was in a sling with his arm after the game, as he got hurt on the punt return, where he fumbled the ball. Mukuba has a fractured ankle and will undergo surgery, so don't expect him back for a while. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told the media he still expects Blankenship to play against the Bears.

Jackson is at least good news, as Cooper DeJean struggled on the outside against the Cowboys. Fangio would prefer to have DeJean in the slot, but if Jackson is not able to go for some reason, DeJean would go back on the outside.

There are a lot of key injuries on the Eagles, as it is starting to look like they might be a bit shorthanded for the Bears games. That could cause some issues in a week where Philly can't afford it.
