The Philadelphia Eagles had little to brag about after their Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders, 27-10.

Philly dropped to 2-6, has a six-game losing streak, and the season is pretty much over, barring any miraculous comeback. Injuries and inconsistent play have plagued this team all season long.

The Eagles have a ton of free agents coming in for 2027, and they're trying to either keep them on the team or at least earn a nice payday. How did they do in Week 8? Here's a look at the big ones, how they performed, and a glimpse into their futures.

How top 2027 Eagles free agents did in Week 8 against the Commanders?

Tanner McKee struggles in his third start of 2026

McKee has moments of accuracy, but too often he misses, and he isn't really pushing the ball downfield. He finished the Commanders game completing 23 of 34 passes for 212 yards and one interception. This makes him 0-3 as the starter this season.

The reality is that McKee doesn't appear to be the future franchise quarterback some Jalen Hurts haters want him to be. These starts will benefit McKee, though, as he builds his case to earn more money as a backup in Philly or elsewhere.

Riq Woolen continues downfall in value after another lackluster game

Woolen hasn't had a good stretch of games over the last two, and he hasn't had to increase his value in free agency next offseason. He allowed two receptions on three targets for 25 yards in the Commanders game. Not as bad a game as he had in their Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but still, allowing 12.5 yards per reception is not ideal.

The Eagles feel more and more likely to move on from Woolen at the trade deadline as he plays worse. It might even hurt his value if he continues this trend. Philly needs to do something with him to get a Day 3 pick and move on by drafting a cornerback in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Moro Ojomo appears to be sticking around in Philly for now

Ojomo had a decent showing against the Commanders, continuing to be a steady starter. He had three tackles, two pressures, one quarterback hit, and one tackle for loss.

Reports came out before the Commanders game last week that the Eagles told teams that Ojomo isn't available for a trade. That could clearly indicate he might be getting a contract extension soon. At least it better be that way, or not getting a draft pick from him could be a fatal mistake.

Dallas Goedert's future uncertain after quiet Week 8

Goedert has been McKee's security blanket over his last three starts, which has helped the tight end's numbers. Week 8 was quieter for Goedert, though, with only four receptions for 30 yards.

The trade deadline should feature conversations regarding Goedert and whether Philly wants to include him in a deal. It's unclear whether the Eagles will do it, but he's good enough that he could command a fourth- or fifth-round pick for his services.
