Here are Philadelphia Eagles fans in Week 2, already talking about how running back Tank Bigsby is not getting enough touches.
Week 1 was weird, as the Eagles beat the Washington Commanders 24-22, but Will Shipley actually got more carries than Bigsby. Shipley got two carries for four yards, while Bigsby only got one carry for three yards. Bigsby at least got two kickoff returns for 50 yards.
All offseason, Eagles fans screamed at the team to give Bigsby more carries, and even with Sean Mannion taking over for Kevin Patullo as offensive coordinator, nothing has changed. Bigsby is still getting screwed out of carries for some odd reason. The Eagles should give Bigsby the rock way more against the Tennessee Titans.
Tank Bigsby might break out against the Titans (if the Eagles let him)
In the Titans' 23-10 loss to the New York Jets last week, Tennessee allowed 152 yards rushing on 39 carries and two touchdowns. New York averaged 3.9 yards per carry, but they kept drives moving by getting those important almost-four-yard gains on each run.
The Titans let Breece Hall be the team lead with 102 yards on 22 carries and one touchdown. New York's backup, Braelon Allen, got 10 carries for 40 yards, averaging four yards per carry.
Imagine the Eagles putting Bigsby out there for 10 carries and letting him rip it against this below average Titans defense. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry last season with a more banged-up offensive line and a play caller who was way too predictable.
Saquon Barkley will get 18 to 22 carries and likely hit the century mark in yards, with maybe a score or two. Mannion would be crazy not to get Bigsby more involved and let him have eight to 10 touches.
Heck, Eagles fans would settle for Bigsby being a threat in the passing game. Give him one or two screen/swing passes and let him go to work to pick up yards.
Bigsby has the same breakaway speed as Barkley. Arguably, last year, Bigsby showed more consistency in his vision for hitting the open lanes than Barkley, setting up whatever the play was/
Last week in the Commanders game, the Eagles' offensive line struggled to help Barkley out. During the contest, he had seven runs in which he was hit behind the line of scrimmage. Seven. Barkley still finished with 83 yards in 15 carries, but 42 of those yards came off one run.
Other factors contributed to the rough time running the football. Landon Dickerson's knee injury was likely the biggest culprit. That has since been resolved with Dickerson being placed on IR and Drew Kendall most likely replacing him at left guard.
Eagles fans are looking at this and wondering why Bigsby wasn't more involved in the first place. He could have added a spark to that running game, like he did so many times last season.
This weird thing with the Eagles completely ignoring Bigsby in the offense has got to stop. Get him the ball against a bad Titans defense, and it will pay off. Making Barkley do all the work will not only hurt him in the future, but it will also make the Eagles' offense too predictable.

Bigsby has the speed and vision to make a real difference in this game. Hopefully the Eagles can see that too.
