Eagles look to end yet another long jinx vs. the visiting Steelers in Week 15
Yeah, we're over the A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts thing. That eventually became the Brandon Graham thing which, in turn, led us down paths to revisiting the Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens thing. Can we get back to the Philadelphia Eagles? We do remember this team is in the middle of a legitimate championship chase, don't we?
Are all minds clear? Cool! Let's talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers. After all, they are the leaders of the AFC North. They'll be welcomed to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, and much is on the line for both teams.
The Eagles look to break their Russell Wilson jinx in Week 15 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rumors of Russell Wilson's demise may have been exaggerated. He needed the Steelers, and the Steelers needed him. Pittsburgh has been desperate to find Ben Roethlisberger's successor, and they have finally found one. No disrespect is intended to Justin Fields. He balled out, but Wilson has been better
Russell has started the past seven games and has notched a 6-1 record. He has crafted a 12-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio along the way. He enters this game vs. Philly having never lost to the Eagles.
In six career games vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, Russ is a perfect 6-0. That includes Carson Wentz's one and only playoff start, one Wentz left after unfortunately suffering a head injury. This, however, represents the best chance Philly has had to hang an 'L' on him.
This is the best Eagles team Wilson has faced. Philly's 2023-24 season has been one of new standards and territory, broken records, and broken jinxes. Earlier this season, they played the first-ever NFL game in Brazil. Then, they began removing a few monkeys on their backs.
They won in Arlington for the first time since 2017 and in New Orleans for the first time since 2007.
They beat the Bengals in Cincinnati for the first time in franchise history.
Saquon Barkley broke the franchise's single-season rushing record after breaking his own jinx. Before Philly's win in Arlington, he had never played the Dallas Cowboys and come out of a game on the winning side.
The stakes are high for both the Eagles and Steelers in this one. Philly needs the Detroit Lions to lose, and they need to keep winning if they want to capture the number one seed in the NFC for themselves.
The Kansas City Chiefs lead the AFC with a 12-1 record. The Buffalo Bills and Steelers are behind them with marks of 10-3.
Philly needs a win here, and some good energy. We think they can get the job done. Now, all we need them to do during the process is get the ball to A.J. Brown.
All we want for an early Christmas present is for Number 11 to catch three TD passes and rack up 150 yards receiving vs. Pittsburgh as he did in Week 8 of his first season in Philly.
