There was a ton of focus on the Philadelphia Eagles' wide receiver room from general manager Howie Roseman, who added four new pieces, but one of those players might already be in danger.
In the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Eagles selected USC wide receiver Makai Lemon at pick 20, which might have put a veteran on notice. FanSided's Wynston Wilcox named one player from each NFC team who is on shaky ground going into the 2026 season, with new Eagles receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown as the choice for Philly.
"The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Makai Lemon and before that, traded for Dontayvion Wicks. If that doesn’t tell you how they feel about Hollywood Brown, I don’t know what does. Brown has played on three different teams now since he was traded from Baltimore to Arizona. He’s more of a depth signing nowadays and the fact the Eagles went after two players in his position this offseason after signing him, well it makes it clear that unless he has a big training camp and preseason, he might not make the 53-man squad."Â

Outside of Brown and Lemon's additions, the Eagles also brought in Dontayvion Wicks in a trade from the Green Bay Packers, and they signed Elijah Moore. All of a sudden, the Eagles are loaded at wide receiver, and maybe one of the four might not make the final cut.
It would be a major surprise to see Brown left off the roster, as he should play a factor in the passing game this season for the Eagles. He's been the one speed receiver the Eagles have not had during the Jalen Hurts era, as the starting quarterback outside of Quez Watkins.
The problem with Brown is that he is a great deep threat, but that's about it. He's only produced one 1,000-yard season in his seven-year NFL career. Brown has not lived up to the hype, and the Eagles are hoping he can take a big step in a career-defining year for him.

There's always a chance Brown doesn't make the roster since there are so many great players at the position, but with his skill set, he should be able to impact the team in 2026 unless something crazy happens.
