Even though the Philadelphia Eagles' season feels like a wash, they are still managing to make headlines.
The Eagles are coming off an awful 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 8 action. That loss dropped them to 2-6, and it was their sixth straight loss.
With the trade deadline less than a week away, the Eagles could end up in the news a lot more often, but the team is staying active for other reasons. Here are some of the biggest Eagles for the Eagles after their loss to the Commanders.
- Nick Sirianni sticking with Tanner McKee as Eagles' QB1
- Vic Fangio on Jonathan Greenard's struggles in 2026
- Nick Sirianni defends Chris Kuper as Eagles' offensive line coach
- Eagles waive Jakorian Bennett, release Quentin Skinner
- Donovan McNabb updates Eagles fans on Jalen Hurts
- Eagles going to throwback uniforms for Week 9
Nick Sirianni sticking with Tanner McKee as Eagles' QB1
After three straight losses with Tanner McKee at quarterback, most Eagles fans are ready to move on from him and see either Joe Milton or Cole Payton take over. In a Monday media session, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni made it clear that they are sticking with McKee.
"Tanner's our guy. We're not making any changes there."

This season, McKee has completed 63.2% of his passes for 638 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. In all three losses with him as the starter, the team has lost by double digits, and the offense has scored fewer than 22 points.
Vic Fangio on Jonathan Greenard's struggles in 2026
Greenard's struggles in 2026 have been well documented, as he has racked up five pressures, three hurries, two tackles, one quarterback hit, and one forced fumble in five games. He has quickly become one of the Eagles' biggest trade mistakes ever.
Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio spoke with the media on Tuesday and was asked about Greenard's struggles. Fangio chalks it up to Greenard not being available at practice.
"What I see is a guy that has had very, very little practice. When I say very little, minuscule. He missed all of training camp. Missed the first two weeks of the season. No practice. Started practicing. Was on pitch count. Played 19 plays. Was going to increase the next week. Got hurt early in that game. Didn't finish that game. Didn't play the next game, and he's been limited in practice. Contrary to some people's popular belief, practice is important."

Nick Sirianni defends Chris Kuper as Eagles' offensive line coach
Jeff Stoutland's absence has been felt in 2026, as his replacement, Chris Kuper, has faced heavy criticism for the offensive line's recent struggles—Sirianni defender Kuper in his recent press conference.
"Chris is coaching his ass off. He's fighting his ass off, he's coaching his ass off. ...I know he's giving the players good tools to use."

Sirianni started the answer by saying: "We all have to do better. We all want to zero on one thing — we're…
The Eagles have had three different starters at left guard and center this season. Rookie Markel Bell has had to start games at right tackle after Lane Johnson retired. Things don't look great on the offensive line, and Kuper is getting the blame.
Eagles waive Jakorian Bennett, release Quentin Skinner
Philly announced some roster moves after their Week 8 loss. Cornerback Jakorian Bennett was waived from the injured reserve, and the Eagles also released wide receiver Quentin Skinner from the practice squad.
While Skinner didn't do much for the Eagles, Bennett is an interesting move after the team traded for him last year. The Eagles included defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV in the Bennett trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, and Booker is a key piece of that Vegas rotation. It appears the Eagles may have lost that trade.
Donovan McNabb updates Eagles fans on Jalen Hurts
Eagles fans have not heard much about Hurts since the news came out that the NFL and NFLPA were going to investigate the team's role in his treatment for the blood clots that went from his calf and moved up into his lungs. Hurts is currently out for the season as he recovers from the injury, but is expected to make a full recovery.
On the latest episode of the Eagles Collective podcast, team legend Donovan McNabb said he had a chance to speak with Hurts. McNabb shared that the franchise quarterback is doing well, giving Eagles fans some relief.
Interesting nugget from the show today... Donovan mentioned that he recently spoke with Jalen Hurts and said he’s doing very well 🙏 https://t.co/WaLTFwC3f1

Eagles going to throwback uniforms for Week 9
It feels more like a distraction for what is happening on the field, but the Eagles are changing their look for the week. The team is going to their retro Kelly Green uniforms for their Week 9 showdown against the New York Giants.

Philly might be on a six-game losing streak, but at least the fans get their favorite uniforms. That has to count for something, right?
