Eagles radio host just lost his mind on Jalen Hurts in epic postgame rant

Harsh words... but true.

For five weeks, these Philadelphia Eagles have looked like a shell of their Super Bowl champion selves. Having dropped three games in a row, too, the sky might just be falling in Philadelphia.

The breaking point, for some, was watching the performance of quarterback Jalen Hurts on Monday Night Football. In the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Hurts turned in maybe the worst game of his pro career, totaling five turnovers -- four interceptions, one fumble.

In the aftermath of a brutal, overtime loss, one Philadelphia radio host couldn't take it anymore, going off on an epic rant regarding Hurts. Courtesy of Tom Kelly via 94WIP:

"My immediate reaction is, can we stop lying to ourselves now? Can we stop lying to ourselves and realize that the quarterback is the problem with this offense?"

Jalen Hurts' recent performance has Philadelphia facing a brutal reality

Kelly wasn't done.

"I am tired of hearing the excuses. I am tired of hearing he plays the best in the biggest games ... the bottom line is, the quarterback has SUCKED for the last five games, and you cannot win in spite of your quarterback.

"Everybody trying to find every other reason for why this offense isn't working... the quarterback stinks right now. I don't know what else to say!"

The frustration is real and warranted. As much as we might love Hurts, the reality is what it is. Over his last five games, Hurts has posted a passer rating of 72.4 with five interceptions thrown, seven total touchdowns, and three lost fumbles.

There have been signs of this type of collapse throughout the season, too. Hurts has not been perfect in any game, by any means. He has had his fair share of wildly inaccurate passes each week. He's made some questionable reads. And, he has not been as dynamic a runner -- maybe that's more of an offensive line problem, or it's on Patullo ... or a mixture of everything.

Nonetheless, Hurts has misplayed for the majority of this season. Despite the Eagles still having a winning record, this season feels a lot like the 2023 late-season collapse. The only difference is that Eagles fans have felt like a collapse has been in the works even through the victories this season.

Kelly's response and rant are entirely justified. It's a brutal reality, but it's the world we're living in. Hurts has been horrific.
