This year's trade deadline could be very different from the Philadelphia Eagles' past, especially after starting the season 2-5.
Five straight losses might have taken the Eagles from doing whatever they have to do to salvage the season a month ago to starting to build for the future. Philly could end up still be busy making all kinds of roster moves, but it will be more about trading away talent than bringing it in.
Many wonder what the Eagles' trade deadline will look like. Let's look at what it could look like for Philly as the November 10 deadline approaches.
- Eagles' top five trade needs
- Teams likely to be buyers at the NFL trade deadline
- Realstic Eagles trade targets
- Who Eagles could end up trading away

Eagles' top five trade needs
5. Cornerback
Cooper DeJean has been a disappointment in the slot, and Riq Woolen is inconsistent at CB. Quinyon Mitchell needs someone he can rely on to help him. If the Eagles trade Woolen, this becomes a third-straight-season concern.
4. Running Back
Three running backs are on IR, and Saquon Barkley is barely holding on with hamstring and back injuries. The Eagles are down to Elijah Mitchell and Jaydon Blue. They might have to explore a running back if they want to survive the season.
3. Offensive Guard
Landon Dickerson is struggling in pass protection, and Tyler Steen might become a free agent at the end of the season since he's on a final rookie deal. The offensive line will need a rebuild in the offseason, and it all starts with the interior. If a young offensive guard is available at the trade deadline, the Eagles could explore bringing him in.
2. EDGE
Jonathan Greenard has been a $98 million waste, and Jalyx Hunt has struggled to produce sacks. Nolan Smith Jr. has been the only consistent edge rusher on the Eagles. Philly needs a difference-maker because they don't have a guy like that right now
1. Safety
Whether it's Andrew Mukuba or Marcus Epps, the safety position is a mess, with too many missed tackles and broken coverage. The Eagles may not address this position at the trade deadline, but it may be worth exploring whether they can land a good young player. Otherwise, they'll have to use the offseason to fix it as soon as possible.
Teams likely to be buyers at the NFL trade deadline
Chicago Bears (5-2)
The Bears are reportedly very active in finding defensive help to get their team over the top. With a Super Bowl in reach, they will do whatever it takes to get there. Chicago could be an option for the Eagles to call regarding some of their young defensive talent.
Kansas City Chiefs (5-1)
Early in the season, the Chiefs have lost multiple wide receivers and are looking to add another. Kansas City wants to get themselves back in the Super Bowl conversation after missing the playoffs last year, so they want to add a player or two at the deadline.
Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2)
The Steelers are looking to improve two positions on the roster: cornerback and wide receiver. The Eagles have talent at each position that Pittsburgh could consider if it's truly trying to make one final push with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.
Minnesota Vikings (6-0)
Minnesota is trying to stay undefeated in a strong NFC North division, so they need help. The Vikings are reportedly looking for offensive line and defensive line help at the trade deadline, so the Eagles might be able to provide a player or two.
Realstic Eagles trade targets
Shemar Stewart, Cincinnati Bengals EDGE
The Eagles will look for younger players on rookie contracts, and Stewart fits that bill, as he is in his second NFL season. He has only played in 11 career games and has two sacks. Cincinnati might be willing to give him up cheaply, so Philly could take a chance on him, with Nolan Smith Jr. and Jalyx Hunt's futures up for grabs.
Mac Jones, San Francisco 49ers QB
Jones has been a backup for a while now since it didn't work out for him to start in New England. He's learned under the Kyle Shanahan system, the same one Sean Mannion runs with the Eagles. If the Eagles can win some games but Tanner McKee struggles, Jones could be the guy Philly calls to take over at QB for the rest of the season.
Who Eagles could end up trading away
Riq Woolen, CB
After giving up 117 yards and a touchdown in the Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Woolen might be an easy trade to the Eagles. He's on a one-year deal, but many teams that need a CB2 for the rest of the season could use him for a playoff or Super Bowl run. Philly would want a high Day 3 pick to make it happen, but Woolen is high on the trade list.
Landon Dickerson, OG
Dickerson has allowed eight pressures in his two starts this season, but the Eagles have run the ball much better when he was playing left guard. Philly would like to play Willie Lampkin at guard to see if they have a future with him. A high Day 3 or third-round pick for Dickerson would be ideal for the Eagles, as this relationship has been going south over the last year.
Moro Ojomo, DT
Ojomo is in the final year of his rookie contract, and he's expected to earn a big payday in the offseason that the Eagles won't be willing or able to pay. They might as well get a Day 3 pick for him and try to play Ty Robinson more often. Many teams will be interested in bringing in Ojomo and trying to get him on a long-term deal.
Dallas Goedert, TE
Goedert is on a one-year deal and still has what it takes to be a starting tight end for many NFL teams. The Eagles can easily get a high Day 3 pick for one of the team's most reliable pass catchers. Philly may not want to move on with all the injuries, but if they can get some confidence in rookie Eli Stowers, they could get Goedert at the right price.
Hollywood Brown, WR
Brown had his first two catches of the season against the Cowboys and gained 30 yards. The Eagles are unlikely to use him on offense, so a team that needs a wide receiver would use him more. Philly wouldn't get a high pick for him, but it is still worth exploring.
Saquon Barkley, RB
It may seem unlikely that Barkley will be traded because he is dealing with hamstring and back injuries, but plenty of teams are targeting him. The Eagles could hold out for a first- or second-round pick, as they don't want to lose their best offensive weapon without a good deal.
What NFL insiders are saying ahead of the trade deadline
ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler (source: ESPN article from 10/28)
"Mystery surrounds the Eagles' plans. It's unclear at this point whether GM Howie Roseman conducts a fire sale. But some rival teams are expecting at least mild unloading."
ESPN NFL reporter Dan Graziano (source: same ESPN article)
"We didn't really address the Eagles in our trade-deadline portion of this column, but my sense is that things could go either way -- or a little bit of both -- for them ahead of the trade deadline. They have veterans on expiring contracts (cornerback Riq Woolen, receiver Hollywood Brown and tight end Dallas Goedert) who could be of interest to contending teams and help Philly out with draft-pick compensation. But the Eagles are loaded with picks already thanks to previous trades. They dealt their 2027 third-rounder for Jonathan Greenard but are projected to get a third-round compensatory pick due to the free agent loss of Jaelan Phillips. And they have extra first- and second-round picks in the 2028 draft due to the trades of A.J. Brown and Cam Jurgens. The Eagles aren't desperate to refill their coffers."
"The big name that everyone will want to know about is Saquon Barkley, but (A) he's clearly injured right now, even though he tried playing through it Monday night and (B) he's a running back who turns 30 in February and is due to make $16 million in 2027 and $19.2 million in 2028. As of now, the only guarantee of that future money is $2.5 million in 2027. If Barkley shows he's healthy in the next couple of weeks, it's possible a team would take a shot on him as the potential answer to its run game issues. But it's never a guarantee with running backs that the team trading them gets enough in return to justify the deal. In this year's NFC East, the Eagles can surely convince themselves they still have a shot to compete in spite of their current five-game losing streak and injury problems. So they're not trying to give Barkley away."
Dream outcomes for the Eagles at the NFL trade deadline
The Eagles have plenty of great options at the trade deadline, whether trading players away or bringing in new talent. What would be the best-case scenarios for the team?
Eagles get a first-round pick in a Saquon Barkley trade
Philly won't actively try to trade Barkley away, but that doesn't mean they won't get calls about him. If a team is a running back away from being Super Bowl contenders and they offer a first-round pick in 2027 or 2028 for him, the Eagles won'toffers be able to resist and will agree to the deal.
Landon Dickerson can get traded for a second-round pick
The Eagles somehow got a 2028 second-round pick for center Cam Jurgens. They would love a similar deal with Dickerson, even if it is also for a second-round pick.

Philly can offload Riq Woolen for a third-round pick
Woolen is one of the Eagles' most valuable trade assets; many teams need a solid CB2, and a 6-foot-4 corner is rare. Getting a third-round pick for a Super Bowl champion would be a dream scenario for the Eagles.
