The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to get off to a fast start to the 2026 season with a Week 2 showdown against the Tennessee Titans.
Philly is coming off a 24-22 nail-biting win over the Washington Commanders, thanks to defensive tackle Moro Ojomo's stop on a two-point conversion at the end of the game. Tennessee is heading in another direction after their 23-10 loss to the New York Jets in Week 1.

Cooper DeJean and Jalen Carter were the biggest concerns at the start of the practice week, as both missed the first practice but returned with limited participation for Thursday's practice. They both practiced on Friday and look good to play.
Jonathan Greenard is set to miss his second straight game with a pectoral injury. Andrew Mukuba is the only other player whose status is up in the air due to his knee injury.
One other key injury not on the report is that starting left guard Landon Dickerson was placed on IR and is out for at least the next four games with a knee injury. Dickerson suffered the injury during training camp

The Titans have three notable injuries, as Cedric Gray is in concussion protocol. Fellow linebacker James Williams has been limited all week with an elbow injury. Their other injury is a new one: cornerback Cor'Dale Flott is questionable with a quad injury after missing just Friday's practice.

Can Jeffery Simmons make Jalen Hurts "be a QB?"
Simmons made some interesting comments this week about the Titans' defense, saying the strategy is to make Hurts "be a QB" and not let his legs hurt or keep him down. Hurts threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns the last time Simmons played the Eagles in 2022, so he should be careful what he wishes for. Despite just 203 passing yards last week, Hurts had three passes of 30 or more yards, showing the big play potential.
At the same time, Hurts is coming off a Commanders game where he had 46 rushing yards, including a 22-yard run on third-and-18, so he can hurt a defense with his legs. He's faster than he's ever been, so the Eagles need to use not only his legs but his arm as well.
How will Eagles' injuries on defense affect their performance?
One defensive starter is already out for the Eagles, and another may not play. Even so, the Eagles are dealing with four starters who are hurt in some capacity early in the season, and that's a scary thought.
The real question is whether injuries like DeJean's calf/abdomen or Carter's wrist will affect their performance. Eagles fans saw what it did to DeJean, as he's coming off the worst game of his career, so they hope he's okay to play and can still perform at a high level instead of becoming a liability.
Eagles dealing with no Landon Dickerson at LG, but who's starting there?
Dickerson is out and no one knows who is going to start at left guard. Right now, it is between Drew Kendall and Willie Lampkin. Fred Johnson did have starting reps in practice at left guard, but that feels more like a decoy to throw the Titans off.
Kendall should start and will have his hands full for his second career start going up against Simmons. If he can slow Simmons down, Kendall might have a shot to run away with the job.
Sean Mannion's second game as offensive play caller
Less that 320 yards in his first game as the offensive coordinator is not going to excite the Eagles' offense. Mannion needs to have a strong encore with the offense looking better.
The expectation is that the Eagles score at least 30 points and can get over 400 yards. If Mannion can't get that, he might be in trouble with the fan base.
Final prediction
The Eagles should be the favorites to win this game against a Titans team that looks like they are lucky to make the playoffs. Still, Tennessee has a smart defensive-minded coach with a quarterback that has a strong arm and can use his legs.

This game comes down to the Eagles being able to work through the injuries on defense and Hurts progressing in the right direction with this offense. Anything short of a blowout win might have Eagles fans questioning the team in 2026.
