The Philadelphia Eagles are set to play the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4 of the 2026 season with some fascinating news regarding the inactive list.
It was reported before the inactive list that Tanner McKee was taking over as the Eagles' backup quarterback and Andy Dalton was moved down the depth chart to QB3. Dalton was demoted after throwing an interception in his only pass in the 27-7 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 3.
The other massive surprise is that Lane Johnson was listed as questionable due to a personal issue. Johnson is now officially ruled out for the game.
Due to the six players who were ruled out of the Rams game on the final injury report, the Eagles are going to be forced to make three quarterbacks active. Here are the inactives for the Eagles for Week 4.
- Zack Baun, LB
- Hollywood Brown, WR
- Marcus Epps, S
- Dallas Goedert, TE
- Fred Johnson, OT
- DeVonta Smith, WR
- Lane Johnson, OT
- Cole Payton, QB
Eagles have both Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee active for Week 4
There is going to be a lot of criticism pointed towards Eagles general manager Howie Roseman for his decision to keep four quarterbacks on the roster. This is a perfect example of how that move did not make any sense for the team.
Philly is entering the game with only three active safeties and three active inside linebackers. To make matters worse, the Eagles have four active tight ends and now they only have two active offensive tackles: Jordan Mailata and Markel Bell.
The Eagles will be starting Bell at right tackle, which will be his first career start. He was the team's third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
This is a roster that is very thing at a lot of positions and can't afford anymore injuries. In fact, there are multiple players playing this game hurt, including Jalen Carter and Andrew Mukuba.
It's going to be a fascinating situation for the Eagles and how they manage all the injuries and concerns around the team. They are playing a tough Rams team that is going to make it worse for them.
