The Philadelphia Eagles have released their Week 5 inactives ahead of the London showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars, with Jonathan Greenard on the list.

Greenard had been dealing with an ankle injury he suffered in the Eagles' Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He did not participate in the final practice of the week, leaving his status questionable.

Here is the full inactive list the Eagles announced 90 minutes before kickoff to the Jaguars game:

  • Hollywood Brown, WR
  • Marcus Epps, S
  • DeVonta Smith, WR
  • Saquon Barkley, RB
  • Jonathan Greenard, EDGE
  • Drew Kendall, C

Jonathan Greenard once again misses a game for the Eagles

Greenard is out for the third time this season after playing in the last two games. His health is becoming a major concern. The Eagles had hoped he'd be back after working out on the field, but that didn't happen, leaving them with more questions about whether the trade was worth it.

As for the other key injuries, the Eagles won't have Barkley and Smith for the game, a major blow to the skill-position players who help this offense. Losing Brown is also a big blow to the depth at wide receiver.

The Eagles will have to turn the keys over to Will Shipley at running back as Darius Cooper joins the starting lineup. Tank Bigsby is on IR so that Shipley will start, with Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele as backups.

Also, the offensive line is banged up, and new starting center Drew Kendall won't play in the game. Jake Majors will most likely fill in as the starter after being called up from the practice squad. Majors will be the third center starter for the Eagles this season.

Injuries to monitor in the game are Jalen Hurts and Dontayvion Wicks. Hurts suffered a calf injury in practice, but still practiced fully on Friday. Wicks hurt his hamstring on Thursday, but is still good to go for Week 5.

In the secondary, Epps misses his second straight game, with Michael Carter II taking over. Carter had a great first start in the Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, so the Eagles will still be in good shape for the Jaguars game.

This is going to be the most challenging game of the Eagles' regular season with so many key starters out for the game and playing backups and third strings. Philly still has to manage to find a way to work through it and win the game.
