The Philadelphia Eagles' 2026 offseason is almost over, but that doesn't mean every storyline has a conclusion to it.
Of course, the main storyline that still needs to be resolved is the A.J. Brown trade drama, specifically when and where he will be moved. Bleacher Report writer Kristopher Knox acknowledged how tiresome everyone finds the storyline, but also shares why it is one of the biggest final dominoes to drop before the 2026 season begins.
"Are you getting tired of hearing about A.J. Brown's future with the Philadelphia Eagles? You're not the only one, but until he's actually traded, it's going to remain a hot-button topic. With the Eagles staying curiously quiet about the 28-year-old but using a first-round pick on wideout Makai Lemon, it certainly feels like Brown will be graded after June 1, when it will make financial sense to move him. Trading Brown before June 1 would cost Philadelphia $20.1 million in additional cap space, while trading him after would save $7 million."
Eagles fans are ready for A.J. Brown to be traded already
It has been the most exhausting storyline, potentially in NFL history, as everyone is tired of talking about it. Even with that feeling, it is an important one as it has big implications for both teams.
The Eagles are set to lose arguably the best wide receiver in franchise history and will have to take a hit with the passing game. More pressure will be put on rookie Makai Lemon and the rest of the new Eagles receivers to step up and have the same kind of production Brown had delivered them over the years.
Brown brought a different element to this offense, helping the team make two Super Bowls and win one in his four years. He was the missing piece of this Eagles team that had been desperately needed for years.

June 2 can't come any sooner for the Eagles fan base, but this time should be used to appreciate what Brown has meant to the city and the franchise over the years.
