The 2024 Philadelphia Eagles went on one of the most dominant runs to a Super Bowl championship in NFL history.
Only one of their four postseason games that year was decided by one possession: the NFC Divisional Round game against the Los Angeles Rams, which they won 28-22. In all four games combined, Philly outscored their opponents 145-77, including blowing out the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the Super Bowl to take home the Lombardi Trophy.
A former Kansas City Chiefs defensive end and current Washington Commanders defender, Charles Omenihu, opened up to Emmanuel Acho on the "Speakeasy" show about the Eagles' dominant Super Bowl. Omenihu actually said on camera that the San Francisco 49ers team they faced in the Super Bowl the previous year was better.
Charles Omenihu actually believes the 2023 49ers were better than the 2024 Eagles
Well, first of all, the 49ers went 12-5 in 2023 while the Eagles were 14-3, so the record already shows Philly was the better team. The Eagles were so good that they started their backups in the final game of the 2024 campaign against the New York Giants and still won.
Every 49ers win in that playoff run was decided by three points, including the Super Bowl they lost to the Chiefs, where they had their chances to win throughout the game, but blew it in overtime. Kansas City was down 40-6 against the Eagles before Philly put in their backups in the Super Bowl and took their foot off the pedal.

It's odd to throw that kind of shade at a team that just completely dominated your team from start to finish. Regardless, it's going to make playing against Omenihu a lot more fun since he's on the Commanders now and can face the Eagles twice in 2026.
