The Philadelphia Eagles are still trying to figure out what to do about the offensive line going into training camp, with so many young players to determine whether they are for real or need to be cut.

In the draft, the Eagles made their feelings known about the depth of the offensive line as they selected Miami Hurricanes offensive tackle Markel Bell in the third round and Georgia Bulldogs offensive guard Micah Morris in the sixth round. Bell and Morris have been identified as potential future starters on the line, leaving the rest of the guys up for grabs.

After the loss of Brett Toth and Matt Pryor in free agency, Fred Johnson appears to be the only reliable backup on the team, with the rest being young players or draft picks from the last few seasons fighting for roster spots. One of those draft picks might be in danger of not even making the roster in his second season in the NFL.

Cameron Williams is a name to watch as on the bubble for Eagles

Williams was selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft with the hopes of being an instant impact player on the bench. A shoulder injury, though, derailed almost his whole season as he only appeared in the final game of the season in Week 18 against the Washington Commanders.

Early reports out of OTAs were not good for Williams, as he was seen on the third-string offensive line at right tackle. That position is being occupied by future Hall of Famer Lane Johnson and Bell.

This leaves Williams in a tough spot where he is going to have a fight on his hands with making the 53-man roster. If Bell hadn't been picked, Williams could be gunning for that backup job, but the Eagles made their feelings clear that Williams has a lot of work to do.

With new offensive line coach Chris Kuper in the picture after the departure of Jeff Stoutland, there is even more pressure on Williams to make a good first impression. The talent level on the Eagles' offensive line is strong with the starters, but there is wiggle room for Williams to sneak into a backup role.

If Williams thought last year was a tough training camp as a rookie in the NFL, the heat is going to be turned up in 2026 with even more pressure on him and the other young offensive linemen to step up and play well.
