Well, the A.J. Brown trade storyline just doesn't seem to want to die for the Philadelphia Eagles, as it continues to be a topic of discussion.
The Eagles got two draft picks, including a 2028 first-round pick, from the New England Patriots to send Brown to them. Many are wondering whether the Eagles will be okay without Brown there, and Ike Reese has his opinion on the matter.
"That's what happened with T.O.," Reese said via Sports Radio 94 WIP. "Yes, I mean, that's what happened with the T.O. thing. And today got DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Everybody else pretty much paled in comparison as far as T.O. not being here anymore. And then you watched him go off to Dallas and do some good things. He did some great things there in Dallas as well, individually. Ultimately, the Eagles were okay, and I think ultimately we're going to be in a better situation long run."
Ike Reese likes the Eagles' chances of the team doing well without A.J. Brown
The Eagles have a lot to replace in Brown after making two Pro Bowls and three second-team All-Pros in four years with the franchise. He racked up over 5,000 yards during that span and was easily the team's number one target during that time.
It's not like this team hasn't been through this kind of transition before, as the franchise has lost several key offensive weapons, including Owens, Jackson, and Maclin, over the past two decades.
Looking at what the Eagles have this season, there is plenty of reason to stay optimistic that they can still be Super Bowl contenders. Just DeVonta Smith alone should give everyone the confidence that he can play well as the new WR1 on the Eagles.

The Eagles have always been good, and general manager Howie Roseman knows when to get rid of players and who to replace them with. This Philly team is going to be just fine with what they have and find a way to win games like they usually do.
