Philadelphia Eagles fans might remember quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson from last year and how that experiment did not work out very well.
Thompson-Robinson was a part of a trade with Kenny Pickett last year as the Eagles acquired DTR from the Cleveland Browns. During training camp, DTR competed with 2025 sixth-round rookie Kyle McCord for the QB3 job, and after throwing for 73 yards and one interception in preseason, Thompson-Robinson lost the job and was cut from the team.
Since then, DTR has signed with the United Football League, starting the season as the backup for the Orlando Storm. He was traded about midway through the season to the Birmingham Stallions, where things have certainly changed since taking over as the starting quarterback.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson is catching fire at the right now for NFL teams to see
Thompson-Robinson has started two games for the Stallions, going 1-1 as the starter. Since joining Birmingham, he has thrown for 584 yards and three touchdowns to two interceptions, completing 67.1% of his passes. He's also rushed for another 58 yards and a touchdown.
Little did anyone know that after starting the season on the bench, DTR would actually become one of the top quarterbacks in the UFL. He has certainly put himself back on the map for NFL teams to watch his play on the field.
The big thing Eagles fans are seeing in DTR that wasn't shown last preseason was the accuracy and decision-making. Thompson-Robinson is using his legs a lot more than he did last year in Philly, which has really helped his game.

There might not be much chance the Eagles consider bringing DTR back to their team in 2026, but the NFL can't ignore what he has done in the UFL over the last two weeks. The talent is there.
