The media (again) is overreacting to Jalen Hurts problem that's not even there

It's wild that the questions surrounding the future of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts continues to be a thing.

One ESPN report really opened the floodgates, with everyone criticizing Hurts for changing plays, poor body language, not being coachable, and more. That one story led Bleacher Report writer Kristopher Knox to include Hurts in the "Somewhere in Between" category when examining all 32 quarterback situations in the NFL.

"Jalen Hurts is a three-time Pro Bowler and a Super Bowl MVP, but according to ESPN's Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler, he and the Philadelphia Eagles are at a crossroads entering 2026."

Media members can't stop questioning Jalen Hurts' future with Eagles

Knox had four categories in his article, as Hurts was between "Prime Candidates to Pursue a New Franchise QB Next Offseason (if Not Sooner)" and "Probably Not In the QB Market Until 2028 or Later." This couldn't be further from the truth.

Everyone loves to knock on Hurts not being the best quarterback, but the real question everyone should be asking is who the Eagles would replace him with. Last season showed that while McKee is a great backup, he is not ready to be a starter. Philly certainly wouldn't hand the keys off to Andy Dalton, as he is most likely going to retire after this season.

The Eagles didn't have any options in the NFL Draft to realistically look at one. That's because the talent level there is nowhere close to what Hurts can do.

Hurts is not the perfect quarterback, but he is athletic, and when given time in the pocket, he is very smart with the football and rarely puts the Eagles in bad spots. Most games aren't lost because of Hurts; a lot more is won because of him, but he doesn't get nearly enough credit for the victories.

Knox said it himself: Hurts is a three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, but did not mention that Hurts is also a Super Bowl MVP and has appeared in two of those games. Let's give him more credit than he deserves, as his future is in a good spot in Philly. People need to stop questioning it.
