As the Philadelphia Eagles continue to prepare for the 2026 NFL Draft, the organization continues to prepare for additional assets for the upcoming season.
While Philadelphia will be extremely aggressive in building its team through the draft, the 2026 UFL season is also underway, with teams consistently turning to spring football to fill out their rosters, hoping to find a diamond in the rough. As the UFL heads into week three, below are four players the Eagles should take an extended look at once they become eligible to sign with NFL teams.
Sincere Haynesworth, Center
Haynesworth has been a fringe NFL prospect since coming out of Tulane, and after spending time with the Arizona Cardinals in 2025, he finds himself in the UFL with the St. Louis Battlehawks. Haynesworth has decent versatility, able to play guard or center. His biggest issue? He's undersized.
While the Eagles have had success with players like that in the past, without long-time offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland on staff, the future of the unit's play remains to be seen under Chris Kuper, who played in the NFL for eight seasons. At the end of the day, Haynesworth is a "football player" and a mauling offensive lineman who will bring value to any unit with his high football IQ, coupled with his tenacious play.
Austin Reed, Quarterback
Though it's only been a week, fans have to wonder if there is something brewing with Dallas Renegades quarterback Austin Reed. After winning the job over former Eagle, Luis Perez, Reed threw for 376 yards in week one of the UFL season.
Currently, the Eagles have three quarterbacks on the roster, and with Jalen Hurts entrenched as the starter, the acquisition of Andy Dalton as his backup could make Tanner McKee a valued trade piece. For Philadelphia, the team has traditionally kept four quarterbacks on the roster, so taking a look at the best quarterback in the UFL might not be a terrible investment heading into OTAs.
John Hoyland, Kicker
Hoyland has been perfect this season through two games in the 2026 UFL season with the Houston Roughnecks, and with specialists always a hot commodity in spring football, he could be a candidate to make the jump to the NFL. Hoyland is coming off a game where he made all five of his field goal attempts, including a 50-yard game-winner. Overall, he's six for six on field goals and has made one extra point.
Hoyland won two all-conference awards at the University of Wyoming and narrowly lost out on the Ravens job to Tyler Loop in 2025. With Jake Elliott showing regression and his contract already being renegotiated, it's entirely possible, to me, that the Eagles have a competition going into training camp in 2026.

Jalen Moreno-Cropper, Wide Receiver/Return Specialist
UFL players have found a considerable amount of success as return specialists, with Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowler KaVontae Turpin leading the way. Moreno-Cropper, who is still only 24 years old, already owns three years of NFL experience, including appearing in four games.
A dynamic playmaker who is gaining more experience as a wide receiver, Moreno-Cropper could stabilize the Eagles' special teams unit while also providing backend depth as a wide receiver.
