This offseason, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts seems to be taking more hits from the public and the media than he ever has before, with fans unhappy about it.
What really opened the floodgates was an ESPN report by Jeremy Fowler and Tim McManus that read more like a hit piece, criticizing Hurts for changing plays, poor body language, and more. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was asked about this on a radio program with host Adam Schein, as he talked about Hurts as a person and player, given all he's gone through.
"Well as a player, I think his success speaks for itself. Ever since he's been a starting quarterback, all we do is go to the playoffs and been fortunate to be in two Super Bowls with him. Incredibly consistent and he continues to want to evolve and grow. He continues to want to get better and I think you are looking for that from anyone who has had success. Are they content? Are they looking to be challenged? And he's like that in all fronts. In terms of his work ethic, his character, I mean those can't be questioned. There's no doubt about it, so I think for us, really feel like it's unfair that this guy who has had this much success, has had to go through so many public things."
Howie Roseman backs up his quarterback Jalen Hurts on radio
It's the exact response from Roseman that Eagles fans expected as he makes sure to defend his quarterback. This is now the second time in the last month that the general manager has had to comment on the recent reports about Hurts.
Throughout his six years in the NFL, Hurts has been nothing but a model citizen and has done a great job as the starting quarterback. He's been selected to three Pro Bowls, been to two Super Bowls, won a Super Bowl, was Super Bowl MVP, and won over 68% of his regular season starts.
No, Hurts is not the perfect quarterback or passer and might have some limitations. What quarterback doesn't have limitations? At least he knows how to win games no matter what.

The hope is that the Eagles can help Hurts move past all these reports and prove everyone wrong. After a strong weekend with the 2026 NFL Draft, it looks like he'll have the talent to get it done.
