The Philadelphia Eagles were hard at work with multiple trades within the first three rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft, setting up a somewhat quiet upcoming Day 3.

In the first round, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman traded up from pick 23 to pick 20 to select USC wide receiver Makai Lemon. On Day 2, Roseman traded for Minnesota Vikings edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, leaving them without their second third-round pick and only making two selections on the day.

Philly goes into Day 3 stunningly with just three picks to work with, and the Eagles don't even make a selection until later in the fifth round. The question is how the Eagles will handle these remaining three picks before the draft ends, and how it might benefit their defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio, after picking all offensive players to start.

Eagles' 2026 Day 3 Mock Draft

Round 5, Pick 178: Michael Taaffe, Safety (Texas)

Taaffe would make for a fascinating selection, especially since the Eagles have not addressed one of their biggest needs at safety. He had a great 2025 campaign with the Longhorns, earning first-team All-American and first-team All-SEC honors, racking up 70 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, and one pass deflection.

There is a direct connection with Taaffe to the Eagles, though, as he was teammates with fellow safety and Philly's 2025 second-round pick, former Texas DB Andrew Mukuba. Marcus Epps or Michael Carter II might still hold down the starting job, but it would be interesting to see if Taaffe would start and reunite with Mukuba in the secondary.

Round 6, Pick 197: Caden Curry, EDGE (Ohio State)

Greenard is already in the picture, but the Eagles are looking for the best available players at this point in the draft, and Curry is certainly a guy who could be a rotational piece at edge rusher. Curry was a first-team All-Big Ten selection after racking up 11 sacks last season on a deep Ohio State unit.

A positive thing about Curry is that he played in a pro-style defense with former Eagles assistant and current Buckeyes defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. He might be a developmental player, but Curry might surprise some people and be a long-term second-string pass rusher on this Eagles defense.

Round 7, Pick 244: Andre Fuller, CB (Toldeo)

It just feels right for the Eagles to look at a Toledo defensive back at this point in the draft due to the success they had with All-Pro Quinyon Mitchell. Fuller is no slouch player as he had 10 pass deflections and two interceptions with the Rockets last season.

The Eagles wouldn't be getting a ball-hawking Fuller in terms of creating turnovers, but he has tendencies that make him a shutdown corner. The seventh round feels like a steal for him as he can be a stellar special teams player in his rookie season.
