In a long line of relevant news for Super Bowl week, one common story has also been in regards to what will happen after the game. The Philadelphia Eagles, in all likelihood, are going to see offensive coordinator Kellen Moore become the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
Rumors and reports have surfaced all too frequently lately, with insiders like Adam Schefter essentially calling the hiring. It hasn't been just Schefter, though. There are a lot of other insiders and experts out there who believe this is imminent.
In yet another update on the Moore situation, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport stated once again that he was the favorite for the job in New Orleans.
"I would describe him at this point, as the likely next head coach of the New Orleans Saints," Rapoport said.
This is not news. It is not shocking; not to the fans, not to any Eagles staff member or player, for that matter.
Jalen Hurts likely knows Kellen Moore is as good as gone after Super Bowl 59
Also chiming in on the scenario of potentially losing Moore to the Saints was quarterback Jalen Hurts. PHLY's Zach Berman recorded his answer to the question.
"Ask me in a week or so," Hurts responded.
Now, his answer wasn't necessarily long-winded. But, as Berman noted, Hurts did say this with a laugh. Whether that seemed to insinuate he didn't feel too bothered by losing Moore, it could have also meant he was solely focused on the game Sunday and didn't want to comment on the matter until it was appropriate to do so.
The fact that no one has denied any claims about Moore "likely" being the next head coach in New Orleans should also tell you something. If Hurts knew otherwise, maybe he would have offered caution to the situation.
If anybody knew or thought Moore was not going to New Orleans, maybe they'd sing a different tune. But, so far, that hasn't been the case and it appears that Moore is, indeed, going to be the next head coach of the Saints.
