Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has certainly gone through it all as the starter for the franchise.

Hurts has experienced new play callers every single season in the NFL, a Super Bowl win, a Super Bowl defeat, and all the drama no one asked for. While speaking with the media, Hurts talked about his desire to be the best at his position while acknowledging the challenges that come with it.

"I do want to become an expert at the position," Hurts said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "I do want to grow in the position. That's obviously hard to do when it's always changing. But that's not going to stop me from trying to be the best I can be. I'm just trying to grow and take in the coaching."

Jalen Hurts openly admits to trouble with development with different play callers

For any quarterback, it's tough to develop and grow within an offense when the scheme and play-caller are constantly changing. Hurts has dealt with it since college, so he's used to it, but it still hinders him from reaching his full potential.

That hasn't prevented Hurts from putting up a solid NFL career so far with three Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl MVP. His resume is better than that of over 80% of the quarterbacks in NFL history.

The hope is that things will change this year, though, as Hurts now works with offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, who is in his first year as a play-caller and his third year as a coach. There is a strong chance that, if things work out, Mannion might be in that role for another year or two before head-coaching offers start coming in. Even that would be a massive improvement from what Hurts has had to deal with.

Everyone criticizes Hurts for multiple aspects of his game, but under the circumstances, he's doing pretty well and has proven to be one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL.
