The end is near for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, with his potential trade happening in the next week as his soon-to-be former teammates speak out.

Of course, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was going to get a question or two from the media about Brown since their relationship has been the subject of media stories over the last two years, with reports stating that they are not as close as they used to be. Hurts was asked about how different the offense will look without Brown potentially being in Philly, and after a long sip of a drink, the franchise signal caller opened up.

"I think for us, we're focused on learning the offense," Hurts said. "It really doesn't change in terms of our approach to improve. There's an if obviously been a lingering thing, but nothing can replace all of the greatness that we achieved together."

Jalen Hurts opened up about A.J. Brown before a pending trade happening

When Brown was traded to the Eagles on draft night in 2022, it was a change of the guard the team needed to go from good to elite. The Eagles made two Super Bowls in four years, with Brown making two Pro Bowls and Hurts being selected to three Pro Bowls in that time frame.

Hurts and Brown proved to be a great combo as Brown posted over 1,000 yards in every season he was an Eagle. In three of the four years in Philly, Brown led the team in receiving yards, with last year being the first he didn't, as DeVonta Smith beat him by five yards.

Issues have arisen between Hurts and Brown due to frustration over the lack of targets going to Brown, leading to a potential trade. Hurts addressed a question about his relationship with Brown, saying they are on good terms.

"Nothing's changed since we last spoke at the end of the season," Hurts said. "We're really good. I saw how beautiful the pictures came out at his wedding. I'm very happy for him, and his wife and his family, and it's such a beautiful thing to step into covenant, so I was very excited and congratulatory towards that."

In just a few days or potentially weeks, the Eagles will most likely go through life without Brown, which will give Hurts the biggest test of his career. While the two should be considered the best QB-WR duo in franchise history, the breakup needs to happen with both sides needing fresh starts away from each other.
