It certainly feels like the 2026 season is the hard reset the Philadelphia Eagles needed on offense, with the scheme and look set to be very different under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, who will take over play-calling.
That also means there are going to be big changes with the Eagles' starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts, after a recent report by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler painted Hurts in a bad light, calling him uncoachable and prone to changing plays. Now, Fowler's new report sounds like not only are Hurts and Mannion hitting it off, but the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback is also putting in the work off the field.
"He's also been throwing off-site with some of his receivers, DeVonta Smith, who's his new No. 1, new veteran Elijah Moore," Fowler said on his appearance on SportsCenter. "He's been getting after it, trying to get ready for this new offense. Eagles are going to look a lot different in 2026."
Jalen Hurts is working with his Eagles wide receivers in the offseason
Hurts' work ethic should never be questioned, as he has always put in the work. The encouraging part is what he is doing to make sure the Eagles' offense is looking good with new weapons.
Smith isn't new, but Hurts seems to understand that his former first-round pick out of Alabama is the new number one receiver, with A.J. Brown as good as gone. Hurts and Smith have always had great chemistry together, but it appears as though that bond is only going to get stronger in 2026.
The interesting part of Fowler's report is that he singled out Moore as someone Hurts has worked with. That's usually a good indicator that Hurts is committed to getting with his new wide receivers and working with them. Philly's quarterback has a plethora of new targets in 2026, including Moore, Makai Lemon, Dontayvion Wicks, and Marquise Brown.

Everyone seems to have their doubts about the Eagles in 2026, but the offense is already shaping up to be significantly better than the 2025 unit that trotted onto the field.
