In the world of social media, sometimes comments made can be taken the wrong way, which is exactly what happened with former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.
While appearing on SportsRadio 94 WIP, Kelce made comments on the air about Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown that seemed to criticize Brown for playing worse when he was frustrated, which is tough for a teammate to play with. After appearing on the air, Kelce took to X to clarify what he meant by his words towards Brown.
"It seems people are taking this as a dig on AJ Brown, which wasn’t really the intent of the response. It was apparent that AJ was frustrated, and it’s apparent that AJ lets that affect his play at times. That’s frustrating to watch as fans and people on the outside. But it’s more important that his teammates and coaches for all of this external frustration still love and only say positive things about AJ. That probably means that his teammates understand where he’s coming from, and that’s what really matters. If there was an issue with it, teammates would be saying different things publicly. That was the point I was attempting to say. That was the purpose of this response and I worded it poorly. I love AJ Brown, I loved him as a teammate, and I think if he ends up getting traded, the Eagles, and fans will end up regretting it majorly."
Jason Kelce clarifies what he meant by A.J. Brown
Most Eagles really didn't think much of Kelce's comments, as they seemed on point, but as the class act he is, Kelce wanted to make sure he clarified what he meant. Kelce, while not on the Eagles roster, makes sure to be supportive and offers constructive criticism without going too hard on his former teammates.
Since Brown has been on the team, there's never been a doubt that he is a good teammate. The Eagles keep voting him as a team captain for a reason, and he always gets praised by his teammates every step of the way.
Even with the cryptic tweets and comments made on a stream, his teammates always backed Brown up. There is clear love and respect from him, but as Brown has talked about recently, he does get misunderstood by the media and fans, and he won't let that bother him.

While Kelce didn't have to clarify his words, it won't change the harsh reality that the Eagles still have to decide on whether to trade Brown away or keep him in 2026.
