One thing that Philadelphia Eagles fans know about how leadership within the organization feels about their quarterback, Jalen Hurts: they are high on him.
It has long been known that they think very highly of Hurts, despite those in the media who might look down on Hurts's "limitations." Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, at his press conference in Phoenix for the NFL owners' meetings, made sure to double down on his feelings for Hurts.
"I love Jalen. I mean, there's no bigger fan of Jalen than me," Lurie said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "Clutch gene, absolutely. MVP the Super Bowl 13 months ago, should have been MVP the Super Bowl right before that. ...Exceptional and so dedicated. I mean, ...Incredibly dedicated to the game, to winning and being a huge winner. And I love everything about him. (Contract questions), we never would discuss it. He's in the middle of the new contract now."
Jeffrey Lurie shows love for Jalen Hurts in his press conference
It's hard not to love what Hurts has done for the franchise, as he is the only quarterback in team history to take the Eagles to the Super Bowl twice. Hurts is a three-time Pro Bowler, two-time Super Bowl participant, won one Super Bowl, and was Super Bowl MVP.
He's also a model citizen off the field, and Hurts recently published a children's book. Hurts does a ton for the community, especially through his work with the Special Olympics.
The hot-take media likes to take him down because he doesn't get 4,000 yards in a season and isn't like the Josh Allens and Joe Burrows in the league. Hurts is a different kind of quarterback who has proven to be a winner, winning nearly 70% of his starts and posting a postseason winning record.
Lurie and the rest of the organization's leaders, like general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni, have always backed Hurts as their guy, despite reports that Eagles players were annoyed that leadership doesn't hold him accountable in public. It's hard to point the finger at a guy who does win most of the time.

Most NFL teams don't have the kind of quarterback stability that has made the Eagles one of the most successful franchises over the last six years with Hurts. Even if the media wants to take him down, Lurie and the Eagles fan base know how good they have it with Hurts.
