Hopefully quickly.

Just one more day before the Philadelphia Eagles can finally trade wide receiver A.J. Brown without any major issues financially for the team.

All offseason, the talk has been and continues to be that Brown is going to be traded for the New England Patriots, with the only issue being whether the Patriots would be willing to give the Eagles a first-round pick. ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler went on SportsCenter to give an update on when the trade could happen.

"We're getting really close here, and I was told the Patriots remain confident that they can get this deal done," Fowler said. "When I checked with a source on trade terms, I was told that sides are 'working on it.' And so, after 4:01 pm ET tomorrow is when that time that we were waiting on; the Eagles can spread out that cap hit over two years instead of one. So, the Patriots are hopeful that they can try to get a deal done shortly after that window opens, but they still have to agree. I'm told they have not been overly crazy about giving up a first-round pick, which is what Philly's kind of wanted all along here. So, they've got to find a sweet spot on the trade terms. Does it include maybe a conditional pick or maybe a pick going back to New England? That's what they're sorting through."

Eagles and Patriots are close to finally making the A.J. Brown trade happen

Technically, the Eagles could complete the trade after 4:00 pm, which the fan base would probably prefer, so they can finally move on. The reality is it could take longer than that.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman will most likely use time on Monday before 4:00 pm to negotiate with Patriots' Eliot Wolf to come up with some of the terms of the deal. The Patriots will probably try to push for a second-round pick in exchange for something else, like a pick or a player, but Roseman has been adamant about getting a first-round pick since the offseason began.

At the end of the day, the Eagles have more leverage in the deal than the Patriots do. New England did not draft a receiver and got Romeo Doubs as their WR1, so they need Brown badly. The Eagles are not as desperate as Brown would only add to an already deep wide receiver room in Philly.

Philly wants to get the deal done quickly so that they can save money against the cap, as $7 million will be added with Brown gone. The Eagles will also see their dead cap hit be cut in half.

Something is going to get done, whether that happens on Monday, Tuesday, or later in the week. Both teams need this deal to come together, so they will both come out of it happy as long as they move quickly on getting it closed.
