The Philadelphia Eagles have needed Jordan Davis to step up in 2025, and he's delivered.

Coming off their playoff-clinching win against the Washington Commanders 29-18 in Week 16, Davis put together another dominating performance that continues to cement him as one of the NFL's best defensive interior linemen.

Davis put together a Week 16 performance of six tackles, six stops, two tackles for loss, and two hurries. Per NextGenStats, Davis now has eight games with four-plus run stops, which is the most among all interior defensive linemen in 2025.

Jordan Davis is playing for a massive payday from Eagles

Davis is currently in the fourth year of his rookie contract and has already had his fifth-year option exercised by the Eagles for 2026. The former first-round pick was expected to take another step in 2025 and has delivered tenfold, especially with the injuries to Jalen Carter that have forced him out of the Eagles' defensive line rotation since last month.

For Philadelphia, Davis is the first of many contract extensions inbound for several key pieces of their "core". Players like Dallas Goedert, Reed Blankenship, Nakobe Dean, and Jaelan Phillips are due "pay days" because they will be free agents come the 2025-26 offseason. At the same time, the Eagles could let Davis once again "prove himself" in 2026 due to his being on the fifth-year option at $12,938,000.

Davis has set career highs with 65 tackles, 4.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, six pass breakups, and six quarterback hits, in addition to his blocked kick that he returned for a touchdown against the Rams. In addition to his "career year," Davis has been available and healthy, setting a career high in snaps this season and eclipsing his previous high of 519 in 2023, with two games left.

With the playoffs clinched, Davis' workload may decrease over the final two weeks. Regardless, Davis has proven himself at an All-Pro level in 2025, which should transition to an All-Pro payday.
