It feels like every Philadelphia Eagles player interviewed recently is being asked about their thoughts on wide receiver A.J. Brown, who is rumored to be on the brink of a trade in the next month.
In the past week, Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean was asked about it, but didn't really go too deep into it, and now starting left tackle Jordan Mailata is the next one. Mailata appeared on SportsRadio 94 WIP, where he was asked about the drama, but that is not his focus at the moment.
“We’re focused on lifting, running, and getting our work in. Right now, it’s about who’s showing up at OTAs—everything else is white noise we can’t control. He’s a hell of a teammate though.”
Jordan Mailata isn't focused on the A.J. Brown trade rumors
The reality is that the Eagles players probably already know what's going to happen with Brown, so they don't want to focus on that. Mailata has bigger fish to fry at the moment than to hang on to the conversation on Brown.
Philly is going through some big changes with the offensive line and the offensive scheme in general that Mailata has to learn. He's also trying to get back in physical shape for football before minicamp gets underway in a few weeks.
Brown is pretty much going to get traded, and it looks like the New England Patriots are going to be the team that most likely acquires him. That trade, though, won't occur until after June 1, when the financial situation is better for the Eagles to avoid a huge dead cap hit for Brown, and it will also give the Eagles $7 million against the cap.

While everyone else is intrigued by the potential Brown trade, the entire Eagles organization is not giving it a single thought and is focused mainly on the 2026 season. That's the best way to go about it, and fans will be just fine with that.
