Kevin Patullo's odd decision has Eagles fans raising their hands with questions

Why Kevin, why?

It's starting to feel a lot like Groundhog Day in Philadelphia with Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo continuing to make fans question his every move.

The nightmare that is the Eagles' stale, boring, and predictable offense was on full display once again in Week 12 against the Dallas Cowboys. After going up 21-0 with three consecutive touchdown drives of 192 combined to start the game, the offense fizzled out with just 147 yards on the final eight drives of the game with zero points, resulting in a 24-21 loss to Dallas.

One aspect of the offense that was pretty bad overall was the running game. The Eagles finished with 18 carries for 63 yards, averaging 3.5 yards per carry, and two touchdowns. Jalen Hurts was the leading rusher with 33 yards and two scores.

The real story is Saquon Barkley getting 10 carries for just 22 yards, averaging 2.2 yards per carry. With Barkley having that kind of game and having a fumble on one of his receptions in the fourth quarter, one has to wonder why Patullo is not using one player in the running game as much as he should: Tank Bigsby.

Bigsby could be the game-changer the Eagles need on offense

Talk about a player who was highly underutilized in the Cowboys game: Bigsby played a whopping three snaps on offense, amounting to just 5% of the offensive snaps. He did get one carry in the game that went for eight yards, tied for the longest run of the day.

Since joining the Eagles before Week 2, Bigsby has run the ball 18 times for 164 yards, averaging a staggering 9.1 yards per carry. His biggest game of the season was against the New York Giants the second time around, where he had nine carries for 104 yards in the 38-20 win. Since then, he's had eight carries for 49 yards.

Patullo has a guy in his backfield who is actually running the ball well, but continues to give Barkley, who averages 3.7 yards per carry, all the carries. The question has to be asked: Why?

Bigsby has proven to be shifty and can make the quick cuts to find the holes when needed. That is something Barkley has struggled mightily with all season.

Patullo is wasting an opportunity to use Bigsby more; even if it is split carries between him and Barkley, it would make a ton of sense. Eagles fans can pretty much guess what's going to happen next, though. The same thing will continue to happen, and this running game will get worse and worse, like it has under Patullo.
