Landon Dickerson refuses to stoop so low amidst Eagles penalty issues

Interesting perspective.

One of the wild characteristics of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2025 is their undisciplined play.

Sure, Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo hasn't been calling good plays consistently, head coach Nick Sirianni has made some boneheaded decisions that alter the game, and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio can't get his defense to play a full four quarters. If Eagles fans want to play the blame game, though, the players deserve some of that after the amount of yellow laundry that has been thrown on the field for them.

Eagles starting left guard Landon Dickerson was asked about the pre-snap penalties and some of the communication issues. Dickerson wasn't about to play the blame game, as he is more focused on cleaning up the communication.

“It’s nobody’s fault. If A.J. (Brown) jumps offsides, I could have reminded him. It’s just a thing of constant communication, making sure that everybody is on the same page.”

Eagles got a lot of work to do to get that improved ASAP

The penalties on offense and defense have been bad for the Eagles. They are tied for fifth in the NFL in penalties counted against them, with 91 in 12 games. Philly is also seventh in pre-snap penalties with 35.

Brown has been a major offender of this, as he has had back-to-back weeks with false-start penalties. In fact, Brown leads the Eagles in false start penalties for the season at four.

Part of the communication problems has come from the offensive line and its instability. Dickerson, along with Cam Jurgens and Lane Johnson, has missed time this season with injuries, which has messed up any chances of building continuity on the line.

The Eagles need to figure out how to clean up those small things first before they can even remotely consider a Super Bowl run, as that will be the difference between holding up the Lombardi Trophy a second straight season and a way-too-early trip home.
