Every Philadelphia Eagles fan was happy to see that starting right tackle Lane Johnson was back for another season after being close to retirement this offseason.
Johnson suffered a bad foot injury that cost him the last eight games of the 2025 season, including the postseason. He was having a great season, allowing zero sacks in 262 pass-blocking snaps, showing that before the injury, he could still play at a high level.
With the offseason still rolling on, Johnson shared a clip on Instagram of what he has been up to in preparing to get healthy and back on the field. In the video, Johnson is seen doing several pull-ups at a gym, showcasing the upper-body strength Eagles fans have seen over the last decade.
Lane Johnson is looking better than ever for 2026 Eagles season
Johnson was originally the fourth overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Eagles and has since been the right tackle for the Birds. He has appeared in three Super Bowls, winning two of them, but he has accomplished so much individually that he has made himself a clear-cut Hall of Famer.
- Six-time Pro Bowler
- Three-time second-team All-Pro
- Two-time first-team All-Pro
There's no question that Johnson has consistently been one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL year after year. The problem is that over the years, he has started to get banged up, with injuries and missed time, as he was pulled from several games last year.
All that has resulted in the Eagles looking to the future to find a young lineman to replace him after he leaves. His timeline for leaving and retiring is not yet known, but the signs point to the next year or two.

Johnson has earned the right to pick the right time for him to leave the game. From that clip, though, he doesn't seem that close to calling it a career just yet.
