It's bound to happen now.

The trade deadline is less than a week away for the Philadelphia Eagles, and they see themselves as major sellers.

Sitting at 2-6, the Eagles have little hope of making the playoffs, with NBC giving them less than a 2% chance after their Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders. They'd need to win the NFC East to make the postseason.

Their Week 9 showdown against the New York Giants might determine how the trade deadline is going to look for the Eagles, whether they are sellers or buyers. No matter what happens, though, right guard Landon Dickerson will be in the thick of trade conversations over the next few days.

Eagles could be saying goodbye to Landon Dickerson via trade

Dickerson has been a popular name in trade rumors since the Eagles have already shown, especially this season, that they are willing to move on from Pro Bowl linemen. They traded Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens after getting two draft picks, including a 2028 second-round pick.

The latest rumor about a Dickerson trade suggests there is smoke to it. NBC Sports Philly's Ryan Fowler shared what he is hearing from a source about Dickerson.

"Landon Dickerson continues to draw interest from teams looking for help up front, per source.

Much of the focus surrounding the Eagles has been on potential moves involving names like Riq Woolen and Moro Ojomo, and while they could also be moved, conversations over the last few days suggest multiple teams have expressed interest in acquiring the veteran guard."

The 2026 season has already been a nightmare start for Dickerson. After allowing four pressures and a sack in the season opener, he was placed on IR and missed the next five games. He has since returned to start at left guard for the last two games, but his struggles continue.

For the season, Dickerson has allowed 11 pressures and three sacks in 119 pass-blocking snaps. He has also been called on one penalty in three games.

Pro Football Focus gave him a 54.5 overall grade, ranking 56th out of 75 eligible offensive guards. He also has a pass-blocking grade of 36.2 (ranked 71st) and a run-blocking grade of 61.4 (ranked 40th).

What could the Eagles get for a Landon Dickerson trade?

Honestly, the Eagles may not care about getting a large load in a trade by moving Dickerson. The team might want to cut their losses and let him walk, given the way he is playing.

Still, with Dickerson as a two-time Pro Bowler, that might be enough to raise his price. The Eagles would ideally love to get the same kind of package they got from a Jurgens trade, but that probably won't happen. Jurgens might have been struggling, but he was a Pro Bowler in each of the last two years, while Dickerson hasn't been selected to a Pro Bowl since 2023.

Realistically, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman would be ecstatic to walk away with a fourth-round pick for Dickerson and call it a day. Adding another 2027 draft pick matters to the Eagles because they can use it to replace one of the many players they will lose to free agency or trade away.

No matter what, the relationship between Dickerson and the Eagles has been on a downward spiral over the last year and it's time to break up the band. He needs a fresh start elsewhere and Philly needs to rebuild the offensive line. It's a win-win situation if this is handled properly.
