All has been well to start the Marquise "Hollywood" Brown era with the Philadelphia Eagles after signing a one-year contract with the team.
Brown has already been talking with the media about being an Eagle and about some of the reasons he joined the team, including joining forces with three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Jalen Hurts. While speaking with reporters for the first time, Brown continued to praise his quarterback with a bold statement.
"Seeing how he's able to make stuff happen, how composed he is, his deep ball, and just how he's able to lead, was all attractive to me. He's a Super Bowl MVP. I feel like he stacks up as a top quarterback in the NFL."
Marquise "Hollywood" Brown praises Jalen Hurts
Hurts finally gets the deep threat speed receiver he has been missing in the offense over the last six years, with maybe the exception of Quez Watkins. Brown brings a very different dynamic to the Eagles' offense, as he can burn defenses with the best of them.
Eagles fans have seen Hurts throw deep and do so at a high level. Last year may not have been as good, but there were a lot of problems with the offense that threw it off track.
There are concerns that Brown has only had one 1,000-yard season as a wide receiver in the NFL, but he was never meant to be a number-one wide receiver, and the Eagles are not looking for him to be one. DeVonta Smith is the number one target unless A.J. Brown avoids being traded, so Marquise just needs to be the number two or three target who can stretch the field and create big plays in the passing game.
Marquise Brown will be a perfect fit for new Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion's offense, which requires a serious threat in the Sean McVay/Kyle Shanahan type offense. Adding Brown should open the passing game up in ways that the Eagles' offense hasn't seen in a long time.

The Eagles might not be making too many splash signings, but Hurts should be happy to have Brown in the offense.
