Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby suddenly became available in a trade again, reopening the dream of the Philadelphia Eagles trading for him.
The Baltimore Ravens were set to trade for Crosby, but less than 24 hours before it would become official with the new league year beginning, the five-time Pro Bowler failed his physical, prompting the Ravens to back out of the deal. Since then, Las Vegas has been receiving calls from NFL teams to see about a trade for him.
Crosby decided to take matters into his own hands by messaging, making his first public statement since the incident on social media. His post, though, might lead Eagles fans to believe that a trade won't happen again.
"Everything Happens For A Reason. Believe Nothing You Hear & Half Of What You See. Im A Raider. I’m Back. Run That S**t. 🦅🏴☠️"
Eagles back to the drawing board with Maxx Crosby's comments
No one can really blame Crosby, as he is tired of the trade narrative being hung over his head throughout the offseason and the end of the 2025 season. While he has shown admiration for the Eagles fan base after Philly shut the Raiders out 31-0 last season, it appears that he doesn't want to go anywhere.
This is bad news for the Eagles, who are losing out on all kinds of options at edge rusher. Their top option, Jaelan Phillips, signed with the Carolina Panthers. They then were in on the Trey Hendrickson sweepstakes, with the Ravens coming in and offering him a four-year, $112 million deal.
All hope isn't lost in Philly, though, as they are in the running to trade for Minnesota Vikings edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, who is a pretty good option as well. It may have to take a Day 2 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to get the job done, but the Eagles are determined to find a good edge rusher to team up with Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt.

While there is disappointment that the Eagles are most likely not getting Crosby, at least they still have Greenard to fall back on for the time being.
