The Philadelphia Eagles are reviewing their options for pending free agents as they try to make the right call on each, but one might be more interesting than the others.
Of course, the big-name players like Jaelan Phillips, Reed Blankenship, Dallas Goedert, and Nakobe Dean have been the most debated players. One thing Eagles fans have agreed on is that wide receiver Jahan Doston is more than welcome to find a new home in 2026.
Since the Eagles traded for him from the Washington Commanders before the 2024 season, Dotson has only had 216 yards in his first year and 262 yards last year, with one touchdown to show for it. There might be a case, though, for the Eagles to consider bringing Dotson back for one more year.
Should Jahan Dotson come back for one more season with Eagles?
One of the determining factors could be what happens with Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown. All indications are that the Eagles are open to potentially trading Brown, but they want a first-round pick and another pick within the top 100 to make a deal done.
Should the Eagles trade Brown away, they will need more help at wide receiver. Outside of DeVonta Smith, the next reliable receivers on the team are Darius Cooper and Johnny Wilson. While every Eagles fan loves Cooper, it's still a bit of a scary thought.
According to Spotrac, Dotson could be looking at his next contract in the range of $2.7 million per year. That's a deal the Eagles wouldn't mind, as it is cheaper than many other potential deals for free agent wide receivers. Dotson knows the players and is comfortable in Philly, so it could be a good match for the Eagles.
Most of the problems with Dotson over the last two years are that they were underutilized in the offense. The Eagles did not know how to use him, but with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, he might be able to tap into the potential that Kellen Moore and Kevin Patullo were not able to.

Philly might be a bit thin at receiver going into the offseason, and with Brown potentially one foot out the door, the Eagles need someone they can trust to either be the WR2 or WR3. Dotson is in their backyard, so why not give him another one-year prove-it deal?
