Going into the 2026 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles have more needs than fans have been used to in the past.
The Eagles will be looking at multiple positions, including safety, wide receiver, edge rusher, and offensive line. ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. released his latest mock draft with the Eagles finding their right tackle Lane Johnson replacement with Arizona State offensive tackle Max Iheanachor.
"Iheanachor had 31 starts at Arizona State, but he didn't play much football before that, picking up the sport late. He'll need time to reach his potential in the NFL. But what better way to develop than learning behind an elite right tackle in Lane Johnson? Iheanachor plays with quick feet -- he ran a 4.91-second 40-yard dash at 6-foot-6 and 321 pounds -- and great length. He could provide swing tackle depth in Year 1 before eventually taking over for Johnson on the right side in the future."
Eagles predicted to select Max Iheanachor in the 2026 NFL Draft
Last season with the Sun Devils, Iheanachor was named a second-team All-Big 12 selection and has been projected to go late in the first round. Pro Football Focus gave him an overall grade of 72.5, ranking 68th out of 632 tackles in the nation. On 484 pass blocking snaps, he allowed 14 pressures and three quarterback hits.
While Iheanachor has been a great tackle at the college level, the eight penalties he suffered last season might be one reason that he might not land in the top half of the NFL Draft. If he can correct the mental mistakes, he will be in a much better position in the league.
The Eagles need a right tackle as Johnson nearly retired from the NFL. Also, losing key reserves like Brett Toth and Matt Pryor would be tough losses for the offensive line in free agency.

Depth will be key for the Eagles to get back on track with the offensive line in 2026. Iheanachor will play a key role in that.
