When the Philadelphia Eagles finally got the trade done to send wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick, most fans were just happy it was done, but some are still calling foul on it.
There are Eagles fans who want the NFL to investigate the trade, believing tampering was involved after the Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel scandal unfolded. NBC's Mike Florio shared his thoughts on the trade and explained why he believes the Patriots caved on the deal.
"I wonder if Patriots were willing to overpay to not get into a tampering jackpot," Florio said. "That would explain the willingness to pay a first and five for a guy the Eagles weren't keeping, nobody else wanted, and doesn't want to go anywhere else."
Mike Florio thinks there's more that meets the eye on the A.J. Brown trade
The alarming amount of coverage from Russini about Brown not being happy in Philly over the last nine months was what made it clear there was something off about the whole situation. While there has been no action from the NFL regarding investigating the incident, there will still be conspiracy theories about the situation.
Regardless of the situation, more Eagles fans are just happy that the trade is done and they can move on from the incident. It had been two long years of speculation on whether the Eagles would end up trading Brown, and now, with it happening, the drama appears to be over in Philly for the moment.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman ultimately got what he wanted with the trade, as he received his first-round pick, so it's not like they got screwed in the deal. Two picks are something Roseman can work with in the future, whether actually using those picks on players or adding them as trade pieces for another deal.

Fans want to be done with it and are ready to stop talking about it. The picks are there, and Brown is away, so everyone should be happy and move on.
